Do I have to enter my information into the Key Fields database?

No, the system does not require you to enter your content through the key fields database.  You can choose to remove the key field code from the content and enter your customization directly within the text.  However, if an update comes up later and you chose to replace your policy with the updated policy in its entirety, you will have to re-customize any key field content. If it is done through the keys fields database, the content is already in place and the system will automatically make that replacement.  As there are many key fields throughout the content, it may save you work down the line to use the key fields database.
